I was never really a Salad person but recently I have been really enjoying them because it is an easy way to get in a lot of vegetables. I like my salads with tons of protein and tons of flavors. Salads do not have to be boring and here is a great recipe to prove that point!

Serves 4
A salad that puts all other salads to shame!
Ingredients
- • 2 lbs grass fed beef
- • 1 Package of Baby Lettuce
- • 1 1/2 C Sliced Baby Portobello Mushrooms
- • 1 Sliced Sweet Onion
- • 3 Small Rainbow Sweet Peppers
- • 1 sliced tomato
- • 8 strips bacon
- • 4 chopped hard boiled eggs(optional)
- • 1 sliced avocado
- • 1 cup sliced carrots and/or cabbage
Instructions
- Start by forming your hamburger patties and season to taste with salt and pepper and cook them in a cast iron pan. When they are done, remove from heat.
- Cook your bacon until done but leave the grease in the pan.
- Add your sliced sweet onions and sweet peppers to the oil from the hamburgers and bacon. Sautee for a few minutes then add the sliced mushrooms and sauté the mixture until done.
- While sautéing, toss your baby spinach or lettuce salad with any favorite salad dressing.
- Place the hamburger on the salad and surround with the mushroom, onion and pepper combination.
- Cut up the carrots/cabbage and avocado and place on the salad along with any other vegetables you would like to add. If you have hard boiled eggs, slice them and put them on the salad as well.
